The role
What you'll do
- As an Electrical Engineer III at Neros, you will carry end-to-end technical ownership of electronics hardware across our full product portfolio. Your work spans circuit design and schematic capture, hardware integration and board bring-up, and hands-on test execution across digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal subsystems. You will own design decisions, debug hardware on the bench, and take boards from requirements into production on systems that fly.
- Responsibilities
- Own schematic capture and circuit design across analog, digital, and mixed-signal subsystems, including component selection and power architecture
- Direct or participate in PCB layout, including stackup, impedance, and routing constraints, then review layout against design intent
- Lead hardware integration from board bring-up through production qualification, including hands-on troubleshooting at the circuit and system level
- Debug at the circuit level on the bench using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and standard interface tooling
- Write and execute test procedures, then drive findings back into the design through board revisions
- Author electronics verification plans that connect requirements to specific test methods and acceptance criteria
- Apply DFT, DFM, and DFR to production builds, including resolving issues found on assemblies returned from contract manufacturers
- Coordinate EMI/EMC, thermal, shock/vibe, and environmental qualification activities with external test laboratories
- Participate in design reviews as a primary contributor on design margin, testability, and manufacturability
- You should have the following
The bar
What you'll bring
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- 5+ years of experience in electronics hardware design and verification, with demonstrated ownership of both design execution and verification close-out on production programs
- Proficiency in schematic capture and directing PCB layout, with demonstrated ownership of multi-domain designs you personally captured (Altium preferred)
- Experience leading hardware integration and board bring-up, including hands-on circuit-level debug with bench instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Strong fundamentals in circuit theory across analog, digital, and RF domains, applied to hands-on design and debug work
- Experience writing and executing electronics test procedures and verification plans against prototype and production hardware
- Expertise in DFT, DFM, and DFR, applied to production builds
- Working proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or a comparable scripting language for data analysis, test automation, or results processing
- Nice to have
- Hands-on experience executing WCCA across digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal subsystem types
- Familiarity with formal qualification standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, IEC, UL, or CE
- Background in aerospace, defense, or drone hardware development with production qualification experience
- Experience contributing to FMEA, derating analysis, or reliability prediction on safety-critical hardware
- Experience with SI/PI analysis tools
- US Salary Range
- $115,000 - $161,000 USD
- The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.
- We’re an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all applicants without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
- Neros posts external titles (e.g., "Engineer II," "Senior I") to reflect true leveling, but internal titles don't include level numbers — your internal title will be the base title only ("Engineer" or "Senior Engineer," as applicable).
The company
About Neros
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment. As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years. What you will be doing
