CAD Engineer

As an Astranis CAD Engineer you will design, develop, configure, and maintain spacecraft components and assemblies like bracketry, harnesses, propulsion manifolds, and waveguides. You must have a strong problem-solving background, an enthusiasm for novel design, and designing in complex systems. Experience with spacecraft is a benefit but is not required.

Role

Model and draw components, structures, and manifolds for the spacecraft and its supporting structures

Works with the management of top-level spacecraft assemblies in CAD, as well as create and maintain BOMs in the transfer to production

Check and review engineering drawings

Develop, ideate, and document considerate practices that enable good and efficient design

Assist in recruiting, interviewing and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team

Bonus

Expertise of SolidWorks and PDM Administration

Experience with design of complex assemblies and components

Experience in the design of spaceflight components and/or vacuum compatible systems

Experience with surface modeling
