RH45 radiation-hardened semiconductor qualification funding

BAE Systems announced $16 million in Defense Production Act Title III funding to demonstrate and qualify its RH45 radiation-hardened semiconductor technology using GlobalFoundries manufacturing in Malta, New York.

The award supports the reestablishment of BAE Systems' RH45 ASIC Storefront, a library and manufacturing pathway for custom radiation-hardened integrated circuits used in military, civil, and commercial space systems. GlobalFoundries will manufacture the chips on its 45-nanometer silicon-on-insulator platform in Malta, New York, while BAE Systems' Manassas, Virginia, trusted-source facility performs design, packaging, assembly, and test work.
