MagLev Aero receives concurrent DARPA propulsion awards

Boston-based MagLev Aero received concurrent DARPA awards to advance its drone-propulsion platform toward a flight-relevant TRL-6 demonstration and build a U.S. manufacturing base.

The awards come through DARPA's Minimum Viable Product and Embedded Entrepreneur Initiative programs. MVP support funds a full-scale, flight-relevant propulsion demonstrator, while EEI support targets defense commercialization and a domestic supplier and manufacturing strategy for the company's rim-driven ducted-fan architecture.
