The product

Boom is building Overture, a Mach 1.7 commercial airliner, and the Symphony engine that powers it. Its XB-1 demonstrator went supersonic in 2025.

The thesis

Supersonic civil aviation has been frozen since the Concorde's retirement in 2003. A U.S.-built supersonic supply chain — airframe, engine, materials — is a strategic industrial capability with direct defense overlap.
