The product
Magrathea has developed a next-generation electrolytic process that produces magnesium metal directly from seawater and brines — bypassing the dirty, Chinese-dominated Pidgeon process. Standing up the first major Western electrolytic magnesium smelter in Stamps, Arkansas.
The thesis
The U.S. has effectively zero domestic primary magnesium production; nearly all of it comes from China. Magnesium is critical for aerospace alloys, automotive lightweighting, and steel desulfurization. Magrathea's process makes inherently carbon-neutral magnesium and re-onshores a material the West has lost. Backed by >$100M and >$500M/yr in future sales MOUs.
