The product
Nox runs a vertically integrated metals factory in Detroit that takes raw aluminum plate and block and ships it production-ready to downstream shops. Orders flow from an online portal (Gondor) through an in-house nesting and scheduling system (Nox Nest) to robotic cutting cells on the floor, collapsing quote-to-ship from days into minutes. They start with aluminum plate and block and are expanding into steel, tube, and sheet.
The thesis
US metal service centers are the unglamorous chokepoint sitting between every machine shop and every aerospace, defense, and industrial OEM in the country, and they still quote by email and ship by guesswork. Nox is rebuilding that layer as a software-defined factory so American manufacturers can actually get raw stock as fast as they can cut a chip. If it works, it pulls a structural bottleneck out of the domestic supply chain.
