The product
Pure Steel Co builds a drip coffee maker entirely out of medical-grade stainless steel and glass — no plastic valves, tubes, or reservoirs anywhere in the brew path. The product is designed, manufactured, and assembled in Austin, Texas with first shipments targeted for late 2026.
The thesis
Consumer kitchen hardware has been almost entirely offshored, and 'stainless steel' on a box rarely means the brew path is plastic-free. Pure Steel Co is a small but pure example of an American consumer-hardware brand doing real domestic manufacturing for a product class everyone assumed was lost.
