The product
Radiant develops Kaleidos, a factory-built, helium-cooled, TRISO-fueled transportable microreactor designed to provide up to 1 MW of electricity and about 1.9 MW of heat. The sealed unit is intended to move by land, sea, or air, install without cooling water or heavy permanent infrastructure, and return to a Radiant facility for refueling and spent-fuel handling.
The thesis
Remote communities, defense bases, emergency sites, and data centers often rely on diesel or fragile grid connections. A standardized, portable reactor could provide multi-year resilient power while shifting fueling, refueling, and waste handling away from customer sites.
How it runs
Radiant is developing, testing, licensing, manufacturing, fueling, deploying, remotely monitoring, refueling, and ultimately removing a standardized reactor fleet. It is pursuing repeatable factory production in Tennessee, full-scale validation at Idaho National Laboratory, and early government deployments to build an operating record before broader commercial scale.
How it earns
Government development and deployment contracts plus commercial reactor supply and long-term fleet services. A binding Army agreement is valued at up to $750 million for development and deployment of 15 units under Janus; Radiant also reports a 20-unit Equinix agreement and an Air Force/DIU Buckley Space Force Base selection. Per-unit commercial price, service fees, and margin structure are not public.
Why it wins
A single transportable product designed for assembly-line manufacturing, a full-power test using customer-intent fuel specifications, an accelerated NRC review for the R-50 fuel-handling facility, secured TRISO fabrication and domestic HALEU pathways, and a large government-backed deployment pipeline.
