The product
Shield AI builds Hivemind autonomy software and development tools, the expeditionary V-BAT ISR and targeting aircraft, the X-BAT autonomous VTOL strike fighter in development, and Aechelon simulation and synthetic-reality technology. Hivemind is offered both as turnkey mission autonomy and as an enterprise stack customers can use to build and own AI pilots.
The thesis
Military aircraft and other autonomous systems must keep sensing, deciding, and acting when GNSS and communications are denied. Shield AI's strategy is to make resilient autonomy reusable across many platforms while fielding its own aircraft that reduce dependence on runways and large logistics footprints.
How it runs
Shield AI combines aircraft production and support with autonomy software licensing, integration, developer tooling, simulation, and training.
