Aish Varadhan is co-founder and CTO of Matter, leading engineering on the company's autonomous, lights-out manufacturing systems. Before Matter he led lights-out factory development at Intel, Apple, Nike, Amazon, and Rivian, an unusually deep cross-section of the most demanding automated production environments in industry. His mandate at Matter is to compress those institutional learnings into a single platform that can be redeployed across product categories rather than rebuilt from scratch each time. Varadhan's view is that manufacturing's next decade is defined by software eating the factory floor, and that the company that owns the data wins.
