About
Alberto Lacaze is the founder, chairman of the board, and president of Forterra. He founded the company in 2002 as Robotic Research and led its technical work across defense and commercial autonomous systems. Forterra credits him with more than 100 robotics patents, hundreds of published articles, autonomous convoy systems for U.S. defense logistics, commercial shuttle and transit deployments, and combined air-and-ground robotic vehicles. Before founding the company, he worked as a staff engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where his published research included hierarchical planning for autonomous ground vehicles.
