John Doyle co-founded Cape in 2022 to build a privacy-first US mobile carrier that deliberately collects as little subscriber data as possible. He spent the prior decade at Palantir, where he ran the company's national-security business, and before that served as a US Army Special Forces Green Beret. His thesis behind Cape is that mobile carriers are the most lucrative surveillance vector in the consumer stack and that an American operator deliberately engineered to minimize data collection is a national-security primitive, not just a privacy product. Cape has raised $61 million including a $40 million Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz, and operates its own mobile core with custom SIMs from headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. Doyle holds a JD from Harvard Law School.
