Matt Parlmer founded General Fabrication Company to build the machine that makes the machine, a self-reproducing factory designed to manufacture the tools needed for American industrial expansion. He is a longtime engineer and writer who has argued publicly that the United States lost the capacity to build factories themselves, not just the products inside them, and that closing this gap is the central reindustrialization problem. General Fabrication operates out of Las Vegas, builds and sells industrial CNC and fabrication equipment, and pursues a thesis of recursive manufacturing capacity. Parlmer is one of the more visible technical voices arguing that American industry needs new machine-tool builders, not just new product brands.
