Tasso Lappas co-founded Freeform after serving as CTO of Velo3D, where he led development of metal 3D printing systems for some of the most demanding aerospace and energy parts in production. At Freeform he applies that hard-won process knowledge to a software-first architecture in which AI controls the print rather than fixed recipes hand-tuned by operators. His prior work at Velo3D shaped his view that the next generation of metal AM has to be measured, closed-loop, and capable of running unattended at scale. Lappas's experience anchors Freeform's claim that it can move metal additive manufacturing from boutique to mainstream production.
