About
Ted Feldmann is the founder and CEO of Durin, the California exploration-technology company building remotely operated, semi-autonomous drilling rigs and geological modeling software for critical minerals discovery. He grew up in a mining family and combines a computer-science and geophysics background with operating experience inside both junior exploration and major mining companies. His pitch is blunt: roughly 70 percent of exploration capital goes to drilling, so automating the rig is the highest-leverage place to drive the cost of finding lithium, copper, and rare earths. Durin closed a $3.4 million pre-seed in April 2025 led by 8090 Industries with Andreessen Horowitz, Lux Capital, and Contrary participating, and is operating with partners across the U.S. and Canada.
