William Barker is a co-founder of Slate Auto, the Michigan-based EV startup he helped launch out of Re:Build Manufacturing in 2022. He is part of the leadership team at Re:Build Manufacturing alongside fellow Slate co-founders Miles Arnone and Jeff Wilke and was involved in the original Re:Car project that became Slate. The company emerged from stealth in 2025 and has raised more than $700 million, including a $650 million round led by Bezos, to bring an under-$25,000 customizable electric pickup truck to market.
